Short-Term Visiting Faculty Fellowships (2022-2023)
American Politics, History, Society, Economy and Culture

The Center for the Study of the United States (CSUS) at Tel Aviv University, in Partnership with the Fulbright Program, invites applications for short-term visiting faculty fellowships for the 2022-2023 academic year (to be held between October 2022 and June 2023).

The goal is to enhance international collaboration and partnerships between U.S.-based scholars and CSUS faculty and students, promote joint-research related to the U.S., and engage scholars, students and the general Israeli public in discussion about pioneering research regarding all facets of American society (historical or contemporary).

Eligibility

The fellowship is open to faculty at all career levels. Prospective applicants must be U.S. citizens and hold a doctorate. They may come from any department or discipline that addresses American politics, society, economics, history, law, public policy, international relations, environmental studies, media or culture (including literature, film, art, and music). Fellows may pursue short-term residency at CSUS for the following purposes:

  • Conducting research for ongoing projects (archival, fieldwork, interviews)

  • Completing or refining research prior to publication (workshopping a paper or manuscript in-progress with the relevant faculty at TAU)

  • Presenting new research to relevant faculty and students at TAU

Fellowship periods are flexible and may range from two to four weeks. CSUS will cover the fellow's roundtrip airfare and lodgings at Tel Aviv University or comparable accommodations off campus for the entire residency period.

Fellows are invited to take part in CSUS's activities during their stay in Israel and are expected to offer one public lecture and one seminar meeting with graduate students in their field about a topic of their choice.

Applicants Must Submit:

  1. Fellowship proposal: what you plan on doing during your stay at CSUS – research, workshops, public engagements, etc. (1-2 pages max.). If there are specific faculty members or programs at TAU that are especially relevant to your research, please specify in the proposal.

  2. CV (2 pages max.)

  3. List of scholarly publications

Deadline is on a rolling basis.

We will accept application for the 2022-2023 academic year from March 15th until June 15th, 2022.
